Went for tone on these instead of fancy color..I was inspired by John Kahrs PaperMan. The bottom one is a quick pass and I intend on painting traditionally and handing it over to gallery nucleus for their online exhibit Power in Numbers.. Be sure to check it. The top one is where Nonso waits for the bus while observing his dog. On the next one I intend on including a girl in the picture, which I'm in process of designing..I'm developing the story as I go..Well till the next post. ciao
Wow!! These are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more stuff in this style:)
ReplyDeleteI loved PaperMan too! It was so beautifully shot, wasn't it? Not sure if you know, but I thought it was interesting that Disney created an entire rendering software to render the scenes in that style. Your piece is fantastic too, definitely evokes a little bit of the mood without imitating. Yours is actually much more moody in the sense of how the tone and lighting emphasizes the scene. Definitely looking forward to more of these. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys..Yeah Mauricio to be honest I was more excited to see Paperman than w-i-r . Although, wreck it ralph was great, paperman left me speechless. Yeah I think the program is called Meandor, I may be misspelling it. Don't know what it does or how to use it, but I'd love to get my hands on it one of these days. Thanks again for dropping by.
ReplyDeleteNice! With just value and lighting I can sense mood in the piece quite clear. First one giving the feeling of loneliness and the second has a warm feeling to it. Love the blur treatment to the edges to cause the viewer to focus on the intended area.
ReplyDeleteWoah! I almost missed this post on my blog list, glad I just found it. These are beautiful man, Im very excited to see the final of the traditionally painted one.
